Informational Advisory - 10DLC Registration *** Please use this as a Supplementary Notice to our Post sent today at 12:00pm PST *** What do you need to know? We want to inform you of an important deadline related to Ten Digit Long Code (10DLC) policies. This will impact your ability to send messages through your Twilio Zipwhip service. Enforcement of 10DLC messaging registration begins Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 11 AM Pacific Time. After this time, you will not be able to send text messages using your Zipwhip service unless your business is registered per 10DLC requirements. What can you do to prevent being blocked? If you have not submitted your 10DLC registration to Twilio Zipwhip: Please follow the steps outlined in this link to complete your 10DLC registration - https://developers.zipwhip.com/registration/10dlc/ Please note that it may take up to five business days for your registration to fully process and to restore messaging capability. If you have submitted your 10DLC registration to Twilio Zipwhip but are still experiencing blocked messages: Please contact Zipwhip Support at noc@zipwhip.com if you provided your 10DLC registration information but are still having issues with your messaging. Why is this happening? Twilio Zipwhip is partnering with carriers, independent software vendors (ISVs), and other messaging ecosystem partners to comply with 10DLC registration requirements. These requirements are designed to prevent spam and ensure that mobile messaging remains a trusted channel for consumers. By complying with 10DLC requirements, Twilo Zipwhip is helping to maintain consumers’ faith in receiving trusted and wanted communications on their devices. 10DLC registration began for Zipwhip customers in early 2021 when you provided us some basic information about your business, including your Employee Identification Number (EIN) if you have one, and what type of business you operate. Is this impacting only Twilio Zipwhip or is it an industry-wide development? 10DLC registration enforcement is happening industry wide and is not limited to Twilio Zipwhip. We expect other texting service providers will enforce similar 10DLC requirements, if they have not already done so. How will you know if your messages are blocked? You may receive an error message or error code indicating a message was blocked and unsent. How can you check if you are registered for 10DLC? If you previously submitted registration information to Zipwhip, you would have received a confirmation acknowledging the submission. Note that this does not equate to final registration as there are additional steps Twilio Zipwhip must take to complete the process. If you are experiencing message blocking and want to confirm your registration status, please contact Support at noc@zipwhip.com Will your Toll-Free messaging be blocked as well? No. 10DLC only applies to regular ten-digit phone numbers, not toll-free numbers. Your toll free messaging traffic is separate from 10DLC traffic, so these policies do not apply and your toll-free messages will not be blocked due to this enforcement action. Please contact noc@zipwhip.com and reference this posting if you have further questions.
