RESOLVED 11 months ago - at 07/06/2023 11:34PM

Following a thorough investigation in collaboration with our peering provider, we have managed to trace the root cause of the recent issue to an old static MAC address entry from our previous peering service. This was unrelated to earlier suspicions of stale ARP entries. As the new peering service was activated, we found traffic channelled through the router connected to the old port was not forwarding properly, hence traffic was being blackholed.

The good news is that we've completely rectified this issue – our team successfully re-established the peering session and the service is now fully operational.

We value your experience and invite you to reach out to us should you encounter any connectivity hindrances with your Sydney-based services. We are always here to help.

We are continuing to monitor for any further issues.

MONITORING 11 months ago - at 07/06/2023 07:03AM

Our team of engineers has identified the source of the connectivity issues and has swiftly initiated corrective measures to restore connectivity to the impacted routes.

Earlier today, at a little past 3 PM AEST, we transitioned to a newly established peering interface in Sydney. Concurrently, we redirected our peering sessions to this new interface. However, it came to our attention that certain internet exchange peers had not updated their ARP entries, which unfortunately led to some traffic being misdirected due to the unavailability of the immediate next network hop.

In light of these developments, we temporarily put a halt to our peering session with the route server to allow our peers adequate time to clean up their stale ARP entries. We will resume our sessions soon, once we are confident in the overall stability and performance.

If you are still encountering any connectivity-related issues with your services in Sydney, we urge you to get in touch with us at the earliest.
