Information Technology Services (ITS) has been notified of a network outage at Columbus State University which are being caused by a fiber issue in the Columbus area. Accelecom crews are investigating. Affected users may be experiencing problems with access to GeorgiaVIEW. Additional information will be posted here when it becomes available.

After monitoring the situation, Network Support Services (NSS) has confirmed the stability of network access at Columbus State University. The splice crew is hands off, so there should be no further issues with the fiber. The system should continue operating normally.

Columbus State University is up (both working and protection paths). All alarms have cleared and the light levels are good. We will continue to monitor this system for stability. The Service Provider advised they are doing a temporary repair to get the fibers back up. Splicers are onsite now. No ETR at this time.

A 96-count fiber bundle has been damaged during a road widening project. They are working to move the fiber (splice around the road project). No ETR at this time.
