On March 6th, at approximately 6 PM, we deployed a change to increase the traffic share going through our new published content solution from 10-15% to approximately 50%. This change resulted in increased latency on our database provider's side, which was quickly identified and reported to us.

What happened?
- We increased traffic share on our new published content solution from 10-15% to around 50%.
- This led to increased latency on our database provider's end.

Actions taken:
- Immediately rolled back traffic to 15%, then further down to 1% to alleviate the strain.
- Collaborated with our database provider to upscale our cluster and mitigate the impact.

Why did it happen?
- The traffic increase happened too rapidly.
- We encountered issues with cache implementation.

Next steps:
We have improved our cache implementation, upgraded and expanded the database provider cluster, and implemented a progressive scaling strategy to manage future traffic changes effectively.
