Update from Microsoft: Some users may be encountering multiple issues in the Microsoft Teams service User impact - Users may be encountering multiple issues in the Microsoft Teams service. More info - Impacted scenarios include, but aren't limited to: - View any or up to date profile data - Update, create or view calendar meetings - Send or read messages - Add new users to teams - Known users appearing as unknown Scope of impact - Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure. Root cause - A cache overload is resulting in impact. We're continuing to apply performance optimizations on the affected infrastructure to remediate impact, while we continue to investigate what is causing the cache overload. We're also implementing protection measures to protect downstream dependencies, in order to help alleviate impact and prevent this problem from happening again.

While we continue to investigate the request calls to narrow down the root cause for the increase in traffic to the user profile service cache, our service health monitors indicate that our previously implemented performance optimizations and protection methods have restored the service and remediated the impact.
