Official incident page

Incident Report

Reported Time of Impact: March 2, 2026, approximately 4:03 AM and 5:53 AM EST Root Cause: Localized power issues affecting Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the Middle East region (specifically UAE primary datacenter and Bahrain DR datacenter). AWS has confirmed impairment in Availability Zones mec1-az2, mec1-az3, and mes1-az2, resulting in high error rates and elevated latencies for all services in these regions. Impact: Customers hosted in the UAE may be experiencing intermittent connectivity issues or degraded performance when accessing Athennian, particularly for dedicated sites and API endpoints. Automated and manual Disaster Recovery (DR) protocols are currently blocked due to the unavailability of AWS services at our DR datacenter in Bahrain. Mitigation and Next Steps: Our Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery process has been activated. Our response team is monitoring the AWS situation closely. Service and data restoration will commence upon the resolution of power issues by AWS in the Middle East region. Athennian is currently coordinating with affected customers. Next Update: We will provide updates accordingly, or immediately if the situation changes. We appreciate your patience as we work with AWS to restore full service stability.
