Instagram Publishing – Degraded Success Rate

Meta's engineering team have resolved the underlying API issue, and our monitoring is indicating a return to normal success rates. We'll keep an eye on this for now to ensure the fix is stable.

We've deployed a temporary fix that has restored Instagram publishing success rates to normal levels while we wait for Meta to roll out a permanent fix on their end. If you have failed posts from earlier, you can retry them now. If a retry doesn't go through, refreshing your Instagram channel connection should help. We're continuing to monitor closely.

We're continuing to see issues with publishing to Instagram. Other tools using Meta's API have reported similar issues. We've reported the issue to Meta and will share updates as we have them.

We have identified an ongoing issue affecting Instagram publishing through Buffer.

Our investigation indicates this is caused by a degradation in Meta's Instagram Graph API, specifically during the media publishing process. Buffer's systems are operating normally — posts are being submitted successfully, but Meta's API is returning errors when processing them. No other networks (Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, etc.) are affected.

We recommend not retrying failed posts at this time, as the issue is on Meta's side and repeated attempts are unlikely to succeed until Meta resolves the degradation.
