Claude.ai experienced a major outage lasting 1.5 hours that prevented users from accessing the web interface, caused authentication errors on the API, and affected the console, with users reporting connection failures, server busy messages, and inability to log in across desktop and web platforms. The API returned 529 errors indicating the authentication service was temporarily unavailable, while some users found mobile apps continued working intermittently. The incident was resolved after engineers identified and fixed the underlying authentication service issues.
