Coinbase experienced an 8.6-hour service disruption that prevented customers from transacting on both web and mobile platforms due to increased temperatures in AWS services. The incident affected the Coinbase website and mobile apps, with all trading markets being temporarily disabled. The issue was resolved by implementing a fix for the AWS temperature problem, placing markets in "Cancel Only" mode before fully re-enabling trading across all platforms.
All markets have been re-enabled for trading on coinbase.com and in the Coinbase iOS and Android apps. Coinbase customers can log in to trade.
We will begin the process to re-enable trading on our markets shortly. All markets would be placed in “Cancel Only” mode before we move to re-enable trading.
