We have received notification from our provider that the issue with certain Interac cards has been resolved over the weekend and failures are no longer occurring. Our team will send out another direct communication to Cova Pay Canada retailers with next steps on any customer accounts that were debited in error and when to expect funds to be credited.

As of this morning we have not received confirmation that the issue impacting some Interac issuers has been resolved. Our teams have been monitoring approvals throughout the weekend and have seen a reduction in failures due to this problem and they have returned to normal levels. We will leave this incident open until we have the all clear from our provider.
We are still awaiting an update from our processor regarding the ongoing impact affecting certain Interac card issuers. We will continue monitoring the situation and will share any new information tomorrow morning as it becomes available.

We have identified an issue with Interac transactions failing for certain card issuers which is resulting in uncompleted transactions in the Cova POS. Some of these failures appear to be resulting in a draft of funds from the customers bank account. We are only seeing this with a subset of Interact cards and NO impact to standard credit card transactions. We are awaiting further updates and timelines to resolution from our processor, but in the meantime we suggest either not accepting Interac, or if an Interac payment fails, to NOT reattempt the transaction.
Please note this only impacts Cova Pay Canada and any customers using a 3rd party service should check with their provider to understand if there is any degradation to their services.
