Incident Report

Information
The interface of the Eplan versions 2023/2024/2025 to eStock currently faces some disruption in specific cases. When the user is connected to a collection in Eplan and changes to this collection are made in eStock the function “Update with data from eStock” or the dialog ““New data is available. Do you want to update the data?” can lead to time outs error messages and the updated data is not downloaded.

The cause of the time out is connected to the use of certain user-defined properties in the changed parts. If no user defined properties are assigned to the parts in the collection the update works correctly. Parts downloaded from Data Portal in eStock very frequently have such user defined properties that lead to the time out errors and failed data downloads. Removing such user defined properties in eStock will solve the issue until we have improved the eStock software to completely solve this situation.

Workaround for the customers that are not able to remove user-defined properties:
Version 2023
Instead of using the “Update with data from eSTOCK” function, go to parts management settings, switch to a local parts database and confirm with “OK”. Then open settings again and switch back again to the collection that should be updated with new data. In that case no error appears, and all data is downloaded.

If the dialog “New data is available. Do you want to update the data?” appears the user must not select “Yes” as an answer to avoid the time out error to occur.

Version 2024 and 2025
Create a new collection (can be empty without any parts). Instead of using the “Update with data from eSTOCK” function, go to the parts management settings, switch to the new empty collection and confirm with OK. Then open the settings again, switch to the collection that should be updated with new data and confirm with “OK”. In that case all data is downloaded without the time out message.

If the dialog “New data is available. Do you want to update the data?” appears the user must not select “Yes” as an answer to avoid the time out error to occur.
