October 2025: [GLOBAL][Data & Analytics] - Kafka upgrade version incident notification
OVHcloud's Data & Analytics service experienced a Kafka upgrade failure that prevented customers from upgrading from version 3.8 to newer versions, with attempts returning an error message. The incident affected multiple regions globally and was caused by an issue with OVHcloud's provider, lasting approximately 5.5 months from October 2025 to April 2026. Existing Kafka clusters continued operating normally during the outage, and customers could deploy alternative versions (3.9 or 4.0) in parallel while the upgrade path was being restored.
