Tailscale experienced an 8.6-hour incident where new TLS certificates could not be issued for MagicDNS hostnames, blocking manual certificate requests and preventing new services from being deployed via Tailscale Serve or Funnel. Existing certificates and already-running Serve/Funnel services remained operational throughout. The root cause was identified and a fix was deployed, with the team monitoring for further issues.
