WithSecure Elements emails to Office365 recipients treated as Bulk / Junk by Microsoft filtering

Some invitation or alert emails sent from domain address ([email protected]) are considered as BULK or JUNK emails in MS Exchange Online Protection / O365 filtering. Microsoft EOP (Exchange Online Protection) is treating our new device invitation emails as BULK with a score of 7 which is the default threshold in Exchange Online Protection / O365 when these get quarantined. Some might be considered as JUNK which are then moved to user Junk Email folders. At least these WithSecure emails are affected: -Account creation / password reset for WithSecure Elements -Account creation for WithSecure Partner Portal -Security Event alerts -New Device Installations links for WithSecure Elements We are working with Microsoft to resolve the issue.

Newly installed WithSecure Countercept sensors and WithSecure Elements EDR clients event submissions not arriving in WithSecure backend

WithSecure noticed on September 20, 2022 at 06:51 UTC that event submissions from any WithSecure™ Countercept sensor and WithSecure™ Elements Endpoint Detection and Response clients installed after 08.00 UTC on September 19, 2022 have not arrived to our backend systems. Older installations were not affected. Our engineers immediately started investigating the issue. On September 20, 2022 at 11:00 UTC, our engineers implemented a fix in the backend. The events submitted by the affected endpoints and sensors are unrecoverable between following times: Issue started: 2022-09-19 08:00 UTC  Issue resolved: 2022-09-20 11:00 UTC

WithSecure Software Updater currently not detecting cumulative Windows updates

We have identified an issue where WithSecure Software Updater does not currently detect cumulative Windows updates. End points are shown as up to date in WithSecure Elements portal or WithSecure Policy Manager despite missing cumulative Windows updates. These updates are only visible in Microsoft’s own update service and can be installed from there. We are working with high priority to restore this functionality.

WithSecure Device Control may block executables from running when using external discs

We are investigating an issue where WithSecure Device Control may block executables from running when using an external disc, as well as some virtual discs. The issue started after the installation of the following updates: Capricorn: 2022-08-22_06; Hydra: 2022-08-22_02 and F-Secure Ultralight Core (64-bit) 2022-08-22_01 A workaround is available: disable Device Control for the duration of the incident. Note that disabling Device Control will reduce your overall security. Please subscribe to this incident to receive updates.

We are investigating an issue where migrating from WithSecure Policy Manager and Client Security to WithSecure Elements Endpoint Protection can fail if the WithSecure Policy Manager was configured with a custom certificate. We are planning to release an updated WithSecure Endpoint Protection installer in the week from 4th of July 2022.
