The Airbnb API experienced an issue where webhooks failed to deliver notifications for first messages in new booking threads, and the Messages GET API was unable to retrieve those messages, affecting partners from Feb 24-25, 2026. Partners missed critical booking communication notifications and could not access initial booking thread messages through the API endpoint. The root cause was identified and mitigated, with data backfilling completed and full service restored on March 11, 2026.
This incident has been resolved.
You may now retrieve the messages via the GET /v2/threads/{thread_id}/messages endpoint.
