Last Mile - Investigating Taxpayer Signature Missing Errors

A fix has been deployed to address the “Taxpayer signature missing” errors impacting Tax File automations.

Since deployment, 8879PE forms are being classified correctly, and the previously reported error is no longer appearing in automation requests. We have continued to monitor processing and have not observed any recurrence of the issue.

We have identified the cause of the Taxpayer signature missing errors impacting Tax File automations.

Our Engineering team is actively working on implementing a fix. At this time, we are continuing to monitor automation processing and overall system performance while remediation efforts are underway.

After resuming Tax File automations on February 9, 2026, we observed a large number of requests being returned with the error “Taxpayer signature missing on a form that requires a taxpayer signature.” The issue was identified during routine monitoring, and the team is currently investigating the root cause and potential impacts.
