Increased API errors rates for mutatable VPC calls - Seoul

We are now seeing recovery for the CreateNetworkInterface API. As a result, ECS is now seeing recovery as well.

Existing EC2 connectivity continues to work normally for both existing and newly launched EC2 instances. We will provide an update in the next hour or as new information becomes available.

Customers are experiencing API error rates for mutating VPC APIs such as CreateVPC, CreateSecurityGroup and CreateNetworkInterface in the AP-NORTHEAST-2 Region, which is due to an issue with the underlying datastore for a portion of the VPC control plane. AWS services that depend on these API's, such as ALB, ECS, EKS, and Fargate are experiencing creation errors. Service team engineers have identified the database component causing the impairment and are actively working towards mitigation.
