Outage Details

We are investigating increased API error rates for the EC2 APIs in the SA-EAST-1 Region. This is mainly affecting the RunInstance API. During this time, customers may receive a 500 Response from the API and an error in the AWS Management Console when attempting to launch new instances. This issue will also affect other AWS Services that call RunInstances in their workflows. We are actively working on identifying the root cause. We recommend retrying requests where possible. We will provide another update by 3:30 PM PDT, or sooner if we have additional information to share.
