Active - Azure Front Door (AFD) - Intermittent issues with first-party services using AFD

Impact statement: Beginning at around 18:22 UTC on 5 August 2024, a subset of customers are experiencing intermittent connection errors, timeouts, or latency while connecting to Microsoft services that leverage Azure Front Door (AFD). This issue is impacting multiple geographies, mostly in North America and Latin America.Current status: We engaged several teams to investigate, and correlated impact to a recent configuration change. We have rolled back this change and, from 19:25 UTC, the majority of services are seeing recovery. Many Microsoft services have failed away from AFD, in response to this issue. We are validating that the underlying issue is mitigated, while investigating isolated reports of specific services still experiencing issues.
