CallTower is investigating reports of teams calls failing. We have opened with Microsoft to investigate as well. CallTower has opened a master case to investigate this issue as it has been reported by more than one CallTower customer. This issue may or may not directly affect your services and is currently under investigation. If you are affected, please report the issue to support@calltower.com. CallTower intends to post updates on status.calltower.com approximately every 30 minutes, unless identified otherwise. This issue is being investigated as a top priority.

CallTower has continued to work with Microsoft to monitor the issue. Microsoft has applied a fix to CallTower's affected customers and CallTower has received multiple reports of the issues no longer occurring. We believe that this has been resolved for our affected customers.

CallTower will be closing this master case and all associated cases.

CallTower continues to work with Microsoft on an issue causing calls to fail. Microsoft reports that that issue has been identified and is due to a recent configuration issue that prevented phone numbers from being assigned to users. Microsoft has confirmed that a fix has been applied to all of our customers that are currently reporting the issue. Microsoft continues to work on resolving the issue completely. If you are still having issues, please reach out to support for further assistance.

Issue appears to only have affected a small subset of our customers. Microsoft has provided the following as to the impact of the issue. "This only impacts users who had their phone numbers assigned between Monday, August 14, 2023 at 2:30 PM MDT, and Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 8:00 PM MDT"

CallTower continues to work with Microsoft to ensure our customer's issues are fixed and resolved. Microsoft has provided the below update.

"User impact: Users can't make or receive any PSTN calls from any connection method of Microsoft Teams.

More info: This only impacts users who had their phone numbers assigned between Monday, August 14, 2023 at 2:30 PM MDT, and Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 8:00 PM MDT. Impacted users can still perform peer-to-peer Voice over IP (P2P VoIP) calls through Microsoft Teams.

Current status: We're continuing to optimize the fix saturation and expedite the remediation process. Currently the fix is deployed to five percent of impacted users, and we'll continue to provide regular updates on the deployment saturation until the fix is deployed to all users. Additionally, users will begin to experience remediation incrementally as the deployment progresses.

Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and any user attempting to make or receive PSTN calls in Microsoft Teams is impacted.

Microsoft is currently still working on applying a fix to our affected customers. The fix has been applied to some customers already with confirmation that it did resolve the issue. We do not yet have an ETA on when the fix will be applied to all the affected accounts.

CallTower continues to investigate the issue with Microsoft. Microsoft has acknowledged that there is an issue affecting a portion of their customer base. Microsoft’s message is included below.

“User impact: Users can't update Microsoft Teams to the latest desktop client and can't make outbound calls in previous versions.

Current status: We've acquired the Microsoft Teams desktop client and install logs, and are investigating then to assist with understanding the underlying root cause of the issue.

Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and any user attempting to update the Microsoft Teams desktop client to the latest version or make outbound calls in previous versions of the desktop client is impacted.
