On October 28, 2025, Google released Chrome version 142.0.7444.60, addressing 20 security vulnerabilities. While these updates improved browser security, they also introduced an unintended issue: Chrome no longer supports RDM check scanners, blocking interactions between websites and local devices such as check scanners.

What We’re Doing: We’re collaborating with the RDM vendor to develop a permanent solution. In the interim, Corteva Risk and Information Security has approved a temporary workaround.

Temporary Workaround Instruction:
If you experience issues scanning checks in Chrome 142 or later:
1. Open Chrome and navigate to: chrome://flags/#local-network-access-check
2. Disable the following flags:
-Local Network Access Checks
-Local Network Access Checks for WebRTC
-Local Network Access Checks for WebSockets
3. Click Relaunch to apply changes.
4. Important:  Only disable these settings while actively scanning checks. Re-enable them immediately afterward to maintain security.

What About Microsoft Edge? Edge currently supports check scanners. However, starting in December, Edge will adopt similar security measures, which may also impact scanner functionality unless adjustments are made.

Stay tuned for updates—we’ll share the permanent fix as soon as it’s available.
