Resolved Minor
December 03, 2025 - Started 4 months ago - Lasted 1 day

Incident Report

OIT Network Engineering is aware of issues affecting the ability of some users to establish new wired network connections in multiple campus buildings. Users may see link lights on their network adapter, but then not have any network connectivity on their device with error messages such as "Connected, no internet" or "Could not assign IP address". Any already-active wired network connections should not be impacted.

Known affected buildings:
831 Marietta, Biltmore, Bobby Dodd, Cherry Emerson, Clough, Coda, Coon, Crosland, Curran, EBB, Eighth Street, French, GLCC, Groseclose, Guggenheim, Harrison, Howell, Howey, IBB, Klaus, Knight, Library Records, Library - Crosland, Library - Gilbert, Love, Lowery, Lyman, NAA East, Nanotech, O'Keefe, Perry, Police Hub, Savant, Smithgall, Student Center, Tech Square Phase 3, Tenth & Home, WVDC, Weber

Engineers are actively working to identify and resolve this issue. Further updates will be provided as restoration efforts continue.

The cause of the problem was identified and a mitigation put in place. Service was restored to known affected devices by 11:10am. If you still have a device connected to the wired network that is not getting connectivity, you may need to physically disconnect from and re-connect the network cable to re-establish connectivity.

If you are still having issues with wired network connectivity, please contact the Administrative Services Center at 404-385-1111 or submit a request online at https://services.gatech.edu.
