Summary: Cloud Bigtable is experiencing issues with CopyBackup, RestoreTable, and CreateCluster operations with some zones as the target zone.
Description: We are experiencing an issue with Cloud Bigtable CopyBackup, RestoreTable, and CreateCluster operations using some zones as the target zones beginning at Monday, 2023-10-23.
Our engineering team is working to investigate the issue.
We will provide an update by Wednesday, 2023-10-25 12:30 US/Pacific with current details.
We apologize to all who are affected by the disruption.
Diagnosis:
- Cloud Bigtable CopyBackup may fail when copying to a cluster in the affected zones,
- RestoreTable may fail when restoring to an instance with cluster in the affected zones, and
- CreateCluster operations may fail.
Following are the AFFECTED ZONES
asia-east1-b, asia-east2-c, us-central1-c, and us-west2-a
Workaround: The following workarounds are available:
CreateCluster: - Create the cluster in an unaffected zone
CopyBackup: - Create a new cluster or select an existing cluster in an unaffected zone - Copy the backup to the above cluster
RestoreTable: - Create a new instance or select an existing instance in an unaffected zone - Restore the backup to the above instance
