Additionally, existing eDiscovery holds were not impacted by this event and continue to preserve content as configured. However, creating new eDiscovery holds during the impact duration may have failed to complete.

Current Status: The deployment to all clouds is complete and all Microsoft Purview eDiscovery functionality has been restored. Our engineering team will continue to remain fully engaged throughout the remainder of the weekend to closely monitor the service. We will keep the Service Health Dashboard communication open as customers resume running eDiscovery activities that may have been delayed during this event.

Additionally, existing eDiscovery holds were not impacted by this event and continue to preserve content as configured. However, creating new eDiscovery holds during the impact duration may have failed to complete.

Current Status: The deployment to the commercial cloud is complete in all regions. At this time, all Microsoft Purview eDiscovery functionality has been restored.

The deployment to the Government clouds is still in progress and we’re monitoring its progress as it saturates through the environments. We estimate that this will complete by Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 9:00AM UTC.

Our engineering team will remain fully engaged throughout the remainder of the weekend, closely monitoring the service. To ensure full transparency and support, we will keep the Service Health Dashboard communication open as customers resume running eDiscovery activities that may have been delayed during this event.

Current Status: We are continuing to make progress on testing in our internal environment. However, out of an abundance of caution, we are conducting extended testing on all critical scenarios. While this thorough validation is delaying our production deployment, it is essential to ensure the export functionality is delivered without issues.

Our engineering team remains fully focused and engaged, and we still anticipate delivering the functionality to production by the end of the day on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

Current Status: We’ve addressed the previously described challenges we identified during our testing cycle and are proceeding with applying an update intended to comprehensively resolve this issue. This update enables customers to download export search results in both the modern eDiscovery experiences (eDiscovery Standard and eDiscovery Premium) and in the Classic eDiscovery (Premium) experience.

Current Status: We’ve encountered some unexpected results while finalizing our validation tests. These results require additional analysis and follow-up testing to ensure the code will continue through deployment safely and prevent new issues from occurring when deployed. Due to these circumstances and complexity of the unexpected results, we’ve not yet been able to initiate the deployment to production, which we anticipate will take a considerable amount of time to complete. We’re conducting comprehensive testing for our solution to resolve admins’ inability to export search results or export items from a review. We expect we’ll be able to start deploying this update at 1:00 AM UTC. Once deployment starts, we expect full saturation to be completed by Friday, March 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM UTC.

Current status: We previously stated that we restored most of the functionalities within eDiscovery at 10:17 AM UTC. This remains accurate for most users, however, the configuration change has not fully deployed to our government cloud environments, so users within these environments are still experiencing impact. We expect the same eDiscovery functionality to be restored to government cloud users by 8:00 PM UTC.

Additionally, we continue to work on resolving the ability to export search results or export items from a review, and we expect to be able to provide a recovery ETA for standard production environment users by our next update.

Once we've verified that strategy is a comprehensive solution, we'll establish a rollout timeline and will proceed with applying the needed updates to the production environment.
