Lumen Outage

Lumen Field Operations and local provider technicians are expected to arrive on site at approximately 9:30AM. Once technicians gain access to the site, cooperative testing can commence.

The request for access has been submitted to the local municipality. Repair crews are being mobilized as Lumen and the local provider continue to investigate the network. Still no ETR.

The local provider has arrived onsite and has performed light level measurements. Lumen Field Operations will dispatch to the testing facility to perform additional fiber testing. Repair teams have been engaged to dispatch to the suspected fault location. A special permit will need to be approved by the local municipality before work can continue.

Fiber testing has been completed and results provided to the Network Implementation Engineer . The local provider and Lumen are working to confirm the exact location of the fault and determine who is responsible for the restoration.

Field isolation efforts are still underway.

The Lumen NOC has verified there were no issues in the higher-level transport path. Lumen Field Operations is being dispatched to the physical hand off location between Lumen and the local provider for test assistance. The Lumen NOC is also re-engaging the local provider to continue the investigation.

Latest update from Lumen indicates the local provider is now advising that the fiber fault resides on Lumen's fiber. The Lumen NOC is engaging additional NOC resources to confirm the higher level transport path.

The last-mile provider is still working to isolate the fiber failure and no alternate route is available to reroute services. The Lumen Executive Escalations team continues to press the local provider for repair. No ETR.

The local provider has further isolated the failure on a 60-count fiber on another underlying provider's network. The underlying provider is being engaged to continue investigations.

Lumen's local provider has teams in the field testing light levels to isolate the failure location on the fiber span.

Lumen has identified an interface failure to one of their local providers in the Kansas City area. Lumen is engaging that provider to continue with troubleshooting.
