What does this mean?
Content processing or other long-running operations may take longer than expected to process.
The Panopto operations team have been able to identify that the cause is related to an ongoing outage in the AWS us-east-1 region. https://health.aws.amazon.com/health/status . As such Panopto is not currently able to scale up more instances to handle demand.
This outage is also affecting other Panopto services including viewing, searching and general website usage.
Panopto is investigating potential mitigation steps and will update here again in 30 minutes
The Panopto operations team have attempted the mitigation steps suggested by AWS but continue to be unable to scale up new instances to meet the demand. The team are continuing to monitor the situation and will attempt any further mitigations as they are discovered. The next update will be in 30 minutes time.

We are beginning to see additional instances launch in AWS although we are not yet seeing site performance improve significantly. As AWS continues to progress in recovery, we are exploring all options to ensure Panopto quickly follows. We apologize for the continued inconvenience as we work to fully recover Panopto's services.

We are continuing to see more instances launch successfully and are beginning to see significant performance improvements. We are seeing processing jobs succeed and we are seeing our queues decrease. You may still see longer than normal processing times as jobs move through our system and we work through the backlog. We will continue to monitor the status of AWS and our system as we work towards full recovery.
