Update 3/15/2021 5:15 PM ET: Microsoft has identified the cause of the issue and is working on fixing it, as well as on mitigating the impact.
What you need to know
A recent Microsoft Azure outage has taken down multiple Microsoft services, including Microsoft Teams, Xbox Live, and Office 365.
Microsoft has noted that a recent change to an authentication system may be the culprit of the issues.
Microsoft is rolling back the update in an attempt to mitigate the issue's impact, although at the time of writing, users worldwide are still experiencing problems.
Microsoft has identified the specific cause of the issues and is taking further steps to mitigate its impact. It is also working on a fix, although there is no current ETA.
