SparkPost experienced increased bounce rates and delivery delays for emails sent to Apple-hosted domains due to an Apple iCloud Mail outage, while messages to non-Apple domains remained unaffected. The incident affected SMTP delivery services in both USA and Europe regions for 2 hours. The issue was resolved when Apple fixed their iCloud Mail outage, and SparkPost performed cleanup of suppression lists to remove any recipients that were incorrectly suppressed during the incident.
Delivery rates to Apple domains have returned to normal with no further elevated delays or bounces. We will perform any necessary post-incident cleanup of suppression lists to ensure no recipients were incorrectly suppressed during the outage.
