March 2026: Authentication errors processing Exchange Online backups
Veeam Data Cloud experienced authentication errors when backing up Exchange Online mailboxes, with users receiving "The HTTP request was forbidden with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous'" error messages. The issue was identified as related to Exchange Web Services (EWS) access restrictions. The problem was resolved by enabling EWS at both organization and mailbox levels, with customers who applied these configuration changes experiencing successful backups within 24 hours due to Microsoft 365 replication timing.
