Increased Connection Times

Particle has observed a sporadic increase in connection times for SKUs: B402, B523, BRN402, T402, T523, B310, and E313. EtherSIM devices are not impacted. Use-cases that drop a network connection attempt after brief periods of time (via firmware) may experience connectivity challenges. Impact is intermittent and disproportionately distributed by use-case. The issue has been determined to be a cellular network issue and we have escalated to our network partners.

SIM State Management for the BRN310, B523 and T523 have been experiencing delays for the past week, coming to a head this morning. SIM activations and deactivations for the SKUs in question may result in long periods stuck in the "updating" state. Should this state persist, or if you are performing mission critical operations with these SKUs, please open a ticket at We are working with our downstream partner to resolve the issue.

AT&T 3G Sunset (USA)

AT&T’s announced 2G/3G Shutdown is occurring on Tuesday, 2/22/22. Particle 2G/3G devices in the United States with available T-Mobile service are expected to connect via T-Mobile (until T-Mobile completes its own 2G/3G sunset - see the link below for more information). US 2G/3G devices dependent on AT&T coverage only will no longer be able to connect. You can find more information about this event here:
