Bazaarvoice experienced a service degradation when a subset of products with reviews were accidentally removed from their system, impacting review display on product pages, review submission functionality, and the Manage Content tool for approximately 142 hours. The incident affected Content Display, Portal Applications, and Content Submission components, though no review data was permanently lost. Bazaarvoice gradually restored the affected products by first recovering product IDs and non-localized attributes, then restoring localized data and custom attributes, before fully resolving the issue and confirming all services were functioning normally.
