Incorrectly scheduled database maintenance caused system downtime.

On Thursday, 23rd October maintenance on a primary database occurred at an incorrectly scheduled time. The impact of the database maintenance was system downtime affecting both the Dentally application, API, Portal and associated services. Once underway, for technical reasons the maintenance could not be interrupted. The downtime lasted 7 minutes, from 9.59am BST - 10.06am BST. On completion of the maintenance, all systems were restored to working service. The system was monitored for any inadvertent impacts, none were discovered. We have identified the cause and will be identifying and implementing steps to prevent this from happening again.
