More info: Affected users can launch Outlook mobile while in Airplane Mode and then re-enable Wi-Fi and/or cellular data as a way to circumvent impact while we work towards mitigation.

Current status: We've completed the development of our fix to address the underlying issue, and we've provided the new version of the app to Apple who are going through their standard review and release processes. It can take up to 24 hours for the new iOS Outlook app version to appear in the App Store. We recommend users periodically check within the App Store for version 5.2602.1 and update to receive the fix.

Scope of impact: This issue may affect all users' iPad devices using Outlook for iOS version 5.2602.0. This information may be updated as our investigation continues.

Root cause: The latest Outlook for iOS update contains a code error related to a change meant to refresh rather than restart tabs when feature flags are updated, which is resulting in this impact.

Current status: We determined that the latest Outlook for iOS update contains a code error related to a change meant to refresh rather than restart tabs when feature flags are updated, which is resulting in this impact. We’ve developed a code solution for the next update to address this issue, which we intend to roll out to iOS tomorrow. We’ll provide further updates on this timeline as soon as they become available.

We're analyzing this reproduction of impact to determine if a regression was introduced in the latest Outlook for iOS version to better understand how impact manifests and determine next steps for remediation.
