April 2026: Managed DNS – Delayed DNS Propagation Between Primary and Secondary Servers
No-IP's Managed DNS service experienced a 2.6-hour incident where DNS updates were delayed in propagating from primary to secondary servers, causing inconsistent DNS resolution across authoritative servers. Users making recent DNS changes experienced delays in those changes being reflected across all servers, resulting in inconsistent query responses depending on which resolver was used. The engineering team identified and fixed the root cause, restoring real-time DNS propagation between servers.
