After investigation, we identified the root cause as a failure in one of our routers responsible for terminating a GRE session. This triggered an automatic traffic rerouting to a nearby PoP, which led to cascading issues. We promptly redistributed the traffic across other PoPs and repaired the affected hardware before returning it to production.
We have identified an issue at our New York PoP and are currently investigating it.
