While current KPIs point to a third of normal data sessions in Portugal, and are down to half of normal data traffic in the country of Spain, the type of services impacted are listed below.
DATA - CREATING NEW SESSION – Create new session attempts are failing.
DATA - EXISTING SESSIONS – Existing sessions could be dropped. We are investigating to determine rate of recovery.
SMS - SMS delivery (both originating and terminating) may fail and require retry.
Voice / VoLTE – Both MO and MT Voice calls are failing; Federal agencies are discouraging cell phone usage except in cases of true emergency.
While reports do indicate in Spain, power has been restored in the western, southern and northern areas of Spain, there is no official confirmation of complete restoration of electricity.

Federal agencies in Spain and Portugal continue working to determine underlying cause of power blackout within the entirety of both countries. Currently, there is no announced ETR for when electricity will be restored.

Semtech is observing a service degradation for Smart connectivity SIM subscriptions in Portugal & Spain countries. Devices that are currently present in these regions may find difficulties establishing a new data session, and for a few subscribers, the old data session may drop. We have reported the issue to our partner carrier.
Investigation to determine the scope and cause is underway.
Impact: Impacted devices may experience delays in establishing Data, SMS, USSD, and Voice Services.
