Issue with Slack Direct Messaging

Users should now be able to add people to group direct messages and send messages. We continue to monitor the service closely to ensure ongoing stability. We’ll provide another update if there are any changes. Thank you for your patience.

Increased load on a messaging-related service has been identified as the cause of the issue. We have reduced the load, and are working to restore full messaging functionality. Additional capacity has also been added to prevent further impact.We’re actively monitoring performance and continuing to work to ensure full recovery. We're aware of an issue impacting direct message functionality. Users are unable to add people to multi-person direct messages, and some users are experiencing errors when attempting to send messages.  We're investigating the cause and will update you as soon as we have more information.
