The Excavation Team has completed work to expose the damaged fiber cable on the first side and has now moved to the second side to begin digging procedures. Additionally, the Fiber Repair team has prepared the first side of the damaged fiber cable and has since begun splicing activities.
The Excavation Crew is on site and is working to expose the damaged fiber cable.
WiscNet will continue to monitor and provide updates as they are received.
The following updates from the TEACH Network technical team just came in:
The Brightspeed Network Operation Center (NOC) was engaged to investigate, and a suspected fiber issue was identified. The Dispatch Team was also engaged, and a technician was requested to report to a nearby test site to perform light level testing on the affected fiber span. Once on site, Field Operations will transmit light onto the affected fibers and measure the distance it travels. Those test results will be compared to the existing records to determine if a fault is present, as well as the approximate location.
Second update: Fiber Optic testing results have isolated a fiber issue in Mazomanie, WI. As such, an Excavation team and a Splicing team has been engaged to dispatch to the site, however, no Estimated Time of Arrival has yet been provided.
We will continue to update this page as we hear from the technicians. If you have any questions, please contact our Support Team at 608-442-6761, option 2 or send us an email at support@wiscnet.net.
