BigCommerce experienced a 9.3-hour incident where two-factor authentication (2SV) emails failed to deliver to Microsoft-related email addresses including Outlook, Hotmail, Live, and MSN domains. The issue was caused by upstream problems with Microsoft systems identified by BigCommerce's third-party email vendor. Commerce engineers implemented a workaround and then a permanent fix to restore email delivery to affected addresses.
