Amex Authorization Delays

Impact:

• Abnormal delay in reception of Amex auth and consequent delivery to Fidel API consumers.
• The delivery of Amex auths affects all Amex cardholders, independently of the region.

Details:

• On 20th July, we identified that Amex authorizations were being delayed.
• Initial investigations indicate that the delay is isolated to Amex authorizations.
• The root cause was identified as an upstream issue within Amex's transaction processing pipeline, affecting the delivery of authorization data to FidelAPI.

Actions Taken:

• Escalation of the issue to Amex to identify and resolve the root cause.
• Continuous monitoring of the data flow from Amex to identify and mitigate further delays.
