We've made adjustments and are noticing the backlog of CI jobs is decreasing, but we're continuing to monitor. Details in https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/gl-infra/production/-/issues/19629.
We've confirmed that a symptom of this issue is pre-defined CI variables being unavailable on the Pipeline Creation screen in the UI.
We're seeing significant improvement in the job queue backlog and believe we have mitigated the issue. We'll be monitoring for a time to ensure the issue doesn't recur.
