Affected services include but are not limited to:

- SharePoint Online - Recovered
- OneDrive for Business - Recovered
- Exchange Online

Current status: Monitoring data shows that the Exchange Online service availability is continuing to trend upwards. During the recovery we noticed that there were some timeout errors in our backend infrastructure and to expedite recovery we shifted traffic to alternate service components. This action has had a positive impact on recovery and the Exchange Online service is almost at the required recovery threshold.

Most of the other services affected by this event have reached acceptable performance thresholds. We're actively monitoring the services to ensure there is no residual impact.

Scope of impact: Based on our telemetry and customer signals, impact appears to be isolated to the Asia-Pacific and Australia region.

Start time: Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 1:18 AM UTC

Preliminary root cause: We’ve determined that a recent change caused a configuration issue within our network routing infrastructure, causing impact to multiple Microsoft 365 services.
