Based on further monitoring and investigation, the team noted one of the apps connecting to the database and hence decided to pause the failover activity. The team is closely monitoring the situation to ensure all the services are restored.

After further review and analysis, the team identified connectivity issues between the database and the application tier. The team tried restarting the application hosts however that did not help resolve the issue. The team then decided to failover the database services to a secondary database as the fastest path to resolution. The team is currently prepping for the failover activity.

At 03:03 UTC on January 17, 2023, the Salesforce Technology team noted a service disruption impacting the IND27 instance within the Salesforce production environment. During a service disruption, end users can’t log into Salesforce or access any of their services.

Upon investigation, the team identified a likely issue at the application tier. The team is currently restarting the application hosts to address the issue. In parallel to the current resolution efforts, the Technology team is also determining a potential database failover activity in the event that path becomes the primary one to resolve the issue.
