After successfully testing the fix forward in the staging environment, the team is in the process of implementing the fix in the sandbox and production environment to resolve the issue. This process will take approximately an hour to complete.

At 10:43 UTC, on June 21, 2024, the Technology team disabled the maintenance mode within the managed runtime admin API, ending the service disruption. Customers can now perform code deployment in their sandbox environment. The team continues to develop a fix to fully resolve the issue, which is expected to take several hours. Until the fix is fully implemented customers may experience a feature degradation within the sandbox environment that will impact the code redeployment for new sites.

After restoring the Storefronts for a subset of customers, there is no further impact within the production environment. The Technology team is currently working to disable the maintenance mode within the managed runtime admin API (Application Programming Interface). This activity is expected to take approximately 3 hours. Once the maintenance mode is disabled customers will be able to perform deployments in their sandbox environment. In parallel, the team continues to develop and implement a fix forward to fully resolve the issue. This activity is expected to take several hours.

As of 07:55 UTC, Storefronts that were impacted for a subset of customers within the production environment are out of impact. The team continues to work on the fix forward to fully resolve the issue.

After reviewing additional information, the Technology team noted a new feature that was introduced as part of the recent change as the potential trigger. A subset of customers are affected by the issue. Customers who performed a code redeployment from their end via the managed admin API will be affected. The team is manually adjusting the feature change to fix the issue for already affected customers. In parallel, the team is also exploring the fix forward that will prevent any further issues after code redeployment by the customer. This will fully resolve the issue.

At 23:30 UTC on June 20, 2024, the Salesforce Technology team became aware of service disruption impacting the managed runtime API (Application Programming Interface) services within the Commerce Cloud sandbox environment. The team determined a recent change as the potential trigger and decided to place the managed runtime admin API into maintenance mode to alleviate the further impact. As a result, during this time, customers can’t perform any of their code deployment via the managed runtime admin API. Storefronts may be impacted for a subset of sandbox instances. The team will continue to assess the full scope of impact.
