The database and technology teams brought one of the impacted instances online by applying a configuration change that allowed the host to start successfully with the currently deployed version. Post-checks are complete, the database is now available. Teams are working to bring the other two instances online.

The database team is observing technical difficulties with the roll back. One of the database hosts is in a crash loop, restricting the ability to roll back to a stable version. Teams are discussing steps and measures to proceed with a rollback without causing further impact.

Teams have identified a recent database deployment as a likely trigger for this issue. Post-deployment steps are causing the hosts to run in a crash loop, preventing them from becoming available. This deployment is paused to control further impact to other instances. The team is considering a database rollback and discussing if this is the best path forward.

We are aware of two additional sandbox instances, USA254S and USA252S that are also impacted. The start times are 06:06 UTC and 06:50 UTC respectively. Teams are continuing to investigate if further instances are impacted.

At 06:19 UTC, on August 8, 2024, the Salesforce Technology team became aware of a service disruption impacting the core services. During this disruption, end users may not be able to access any of the services. Teams are engaged and are exploring paths to resolution.
