Twilio Outage - Degraded Performance

What’s happening: Twilio is reporting elevated latency and timeout errors in the REST API, impacting multiple services. The root cause is traced to an ongoing incident in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) US-1 region, which Twilio relies on. Many Twilio service components are flagged as “Degraded Performance”, including SMS, MMS, voice APIs, and messaging channels across all regions (NA, APAC, Europe, MEA). Impacted services: Programmable Messaging (SMS/MMS) across regions is listed as degraded. Voice/Rest API functions are also degraded. Twilio’s platform categorisation shows “Degraded Performance” for critical components (REST API, console, etc.) rather than a full outage. We are still monitoring the situation and will update once we have more information.
