Microsoft’s latest cumulative update released for 'Windows 2022 Server' will cause virtual machines (VM's) which have the 'Secure Boot' option enabled, to stop booting. Windows Patch: • 2023-02 Cumulative update for Microsoft server operating system version 21H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5022842) Impact: • This issue will affect any VMs that are running ‘Windows 2022 Server’ and have 'Secure Boot' enabled as part of the base configuration. The 'vGRID Windows 2022 Server' template has this option enabled, therefore any VM's that were deployed from this template will also have 'Secure Boot' enabled. • The installation of the update and the initial reboot of the VM to apply the update will occur without issue. • Once the cumulative update (KB5022842) has been installed/applied & the 'Secure Boot' option is still enabled on the VM, the VM will experience the error on the next OS boot. Note: Uninstalling the update (KB5022842) will not resolve the issue. Resolution: 1. Do not ins...

There are currently two outages with our upstream provider that occurred at 16:37 PM this afternoon caused by a potential fibre strike. All affected services have redundant paths that are up and running. There has been no impact to our services being delivered by vGRID. The two outage are: > Primary connection between Tauranga and Hamilton -- this has failed over to the secondary connection. > Secondary Internet connection for Hamilton Data Center -- primary internet connections are up and running. While this will not impact any of our services, we are at a slightly heighten risk due to the reduced redundancy. We will continue to monitor this situation through to resolution.

One of our host servers in the vGRID Hamilton platform failed today. The VMware software immediately restarted all affected VMs on other operational hosts and other than a short reboot cycle for the affected VMs everything has returned to normal. We will be isolating the affected host and will test it to identify the fault and get it repaired by the vendor. It will not be returned to the production cluster until we are satisfied that the cause of the fault has been identified and mitigated. A separate message will be send to all affected customers in due course identifying the VMs affected. If you have any questions please contact our service desk.

We have an issue with the Hamilton vCenter Virtual Appliance with services not starting. A "P1" support case has been logged with VMware to investigate and resolve this issue. While this is being worked on, access to the Hamilton Cloud Director portal has been suspended. Your VM's will continue to run normally and you will still be able to access them via SSH or RDP. However you will not be able to modify them or access via the Cloud Director console.
