Barracuda Networks experienced a 35-hour O365 log ingestion failure affecting a subset of accounts, leaving impacted customers without logs for approximately 3 days and triggering log degradation alerts. The root cause was traced to a Microsoft service issue (advisory MO1471241) on September 13, which created a large backlog that overwhelmed XDR backend processing after Microsoft restored their service. The backlog was fully processed and the incident resolved on September 20, though affected customers may have received alerts generated from the delayed historical data during recovery.

Backlogs have been processed and we are verifying recovery is complete
Microsoft had a service issue on Sept-13 under advisory [MO1471241] which caused a backlog of logs. After restoration of MS service, the age and volumes of logs caused complications for XDR backend processing. Processing is now recovering. Affected customers may receive alerts based on older data.
We are experiencing an O365 log ingestion issue impacting some proportion of accounts. The affected customers have not receiving logs for the past 3 days and are seeing log degradation tickets. SRE and Data Engineering teams are actively troubleshooting the issue.
