We are aware of an issue affecting users logging into Alvaria who are using TalkTalk broadband at home.
Please contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and report this problem. In most instances this will be TalkTalk but may also be another supplier who uses TalkTalk infrastructure such as Utility Warehouse.
You will need to inform them that “openuni.via.aspect-cloud.net” is unreachable and times-out when a connection is attempted. This problem is not affecting other colleagues using different ISPs.
Workaround for TalkTalk users
If you log onto OU RDS (OU virtual PC) and then launch Skype on the virtual PC you will be able to login to Alvaria and take calls.
All call related work needs to be done via the virtual OU RDS PC however Outlook and VOICE can still be run locally. Just ensure you don't close down the OU RDS session.
