Increased iOS external service term validation errors

This incident has been resolved.

The fix to enable purchase completion in case of 404 errors has been released. Subscriptions that receive a 404 error at the time of purchase will automatically receive a temporary 30 day access, enabling subscribers to access content.

We are no longer seeing the 404 errors since ~17:30 UTC on October 31. However, we cannot guarantee that they are fully resolved. To be safe, we plan to release a fix later today in case the 404 issue reoccurs.

Our team has extended the access for all affected users until November 30th for the subscriptions that 1) Expired between October 30th and November 1 due to 404 errors from Apple or Circuit Breaker, 2) Subscriptions originally scheduled for verification between October 31 and November 10.

The existing users' issue has been temporarily mitigated and we will provide additional updates as our developers make further changes to work on fixing the creation of new/ renewal subscription issues during checkout caused by a similar error generated by Apple.

We are seeing an increase in 404 errors from the Apple endpoints used to validate IAP access. We are contacting Apple to get more information about the issue.

We are also working on identifying and restoring failed subscriptions. Additionally, we’ll explore the option of extending the grace period to minimize impact until the issue is resolved.

We are seeing unexpected errors when attempting to validate iOS IAP access for some users in the EU environment. Our team is investigating the issue.
